Nothing says Fall like a hot coffee, cozy sweaters, and an amazing Fall candle burning! As soon as we get our first cold spell down here in Texas, I’m off to Starbucks for a coffee, pulling down my comfy sweaters from the top of my closet, and then headed to Bath and Body Works to stock up on Fall Candles!

I’m a crazy person when it comes to candles and home scents. If you know me personally, then you know that when you walk in my house you are gonna smell my candles and plug-ins lol! I have my fave go to’s that I keep going most of the year but when Fall comes around I switch it up to something warm and cozy feeling!

I’ve tried just about every candle on the market. Some expensive and some not so expensive but I always always always come back to Bath and Body Works. You seriously can not beat their prices, and their candles get the job done! I can light one in my living room and within fifteen minutes, my whole house smells fantastic! I also really like their plug-ins! I keep one plug-in by my front door and one by the back the door, and that’s all you need in the whole house!

I’ve had a few friends tell me that they can’t ever find the scent that they like or no matter how hard they try, they can’t seem to get their whole house to fill up with the scents they choose. I have a few tricks that I use that work well for me so I thought I’d share them with you today along with the FAVE scents that I love for Fall!

Enjoy!

OK. Tip #1: Make sure that you buy quality candles. This can take some trial and error and purchasing the most expensive one doesn’t necessarily mean it will work the best for your space. I’ve had high hopes for a great smelling candle only to get it home and realize I can’t even smell it when I’m in the same room with it! If this happens to you, I would just put it in a smaller space like a bathroom. Sometimes a smaller area can trap the scent better. If all else fails, it can just be used as a decorative piece that you light when guests come over. As I said above, my top pick for candles is Bath and Body Works because they work so well, they have such a huge variety, and the price point is excellent!

Tip #2: Make sure you’re buying the correct size for your space! So obviously there are all different sizes of candles, so you want to make sure you are buying the right size for the room it’s going in. If you want the scent to fill your home, you’re gonna want a big one! I buy the Three-wick candles from Bath and Body Works. They’re 14 oz. I believe and last about 45 hours! Depending on how often you burn them they can last a long time! Our living area is fairly large because our kitchen, breakfast, and living room is one big open area, so for me, I need the larger candle to be able to cover our whole living area. If you have a smaller space, you may be able to get away with one wick or a smaller candle! For bedrooms or bathrooms, I go with a smaller one wick candle!

Tip #3: Make sure your scents are cohesive! The best way to fill your home with a great fragrance is to make sure that all the scents in your home are the same or at least from the same area of smells lol! Meaning. I wouldn’t burn a peppermint smelling candle in my entryway and then a sugar cookie candle in my kitchen. Although I like both smells, It kinda confuses the senses and doesn’t feel as inviting when you have competing smells going on. You can layer smells from the same family though. So let’s say you like Vanilla. You could do candles with a vanilla scent and plug-ins with a comparable vanilla undertone. That’s what I love about Bath and Body Works. They have scents that compliment each other, and it makes it easy to chose what will work in your home!

Tip #4: Help your candles out! Homes are big places so if you want that warm and cozy fall feeling you’re gonna have to do more than just light one candle. In our house, I usually have one main candle burning in the living room, a plug-in at each entrance or exit, and a room spray for the bedrooms and bathrooms. I also love to set out bowls of potpourri! I get this from a local boutique! She makes it fresh with dried fruit and flowers and you scent it with essential oils! It seriously lasts forever. When you stop smelling it, you just add a few more drops of the oil blend! The other thing that we LOVE to do is scent our air filters! So when you’re changing out your air filters in your home, you just drop a few drops of essential oil over the screen and replace it! When your air kicks on it will pump that scent throughout your house! It’s subtle, but if you pick the right scent it will complement the other scents you have going on in your home! SO good! 🙂

OK. So here’s a list of my fave scents that will be in my home on repeat this Fall!
