My most commonly asked questions are definitely about my hair, so I figured I would do a little update on all things hair for ya! If you’ve been around for a while, then you probably remember my long hair. I pretty much have had long hair my whole life, so you can imagine what a big deal it was for me to chop it all off! I still can’t believe I was brave enough to do it! BUT! I am so glad I did. There are so many advantages to a shorter “do,” one being how much freaking time I save on drying and styling it! I mean…I’m gaining hours of my life back y’all! LOL!

One thing that I wanted to be sure to include here is a quick guide on my hairstyle that includes things like the type of cut I have, the type of color I have, what to ask your stylist if you’re thinking of trying this style out, upkeep, maintenance, etc.! I always find it so helpful when people share this info!

My Hair Style Guide

My Cut: I have a long blunt bob that hits at my shoulders with long piecey layers.

My Color: I have a balayage with a combo of low lights and highlights. Also referred to as a rooty look with cooler ends!

UpKeep: I’m naturally a very dark brunette, so my blonde tends to get a little brassy around the 6-week mark. I use this shampoo and this conditioner to protect my color as long as possible, and then this purple shampoo to combat the brass until I see my stylist again! I don’t use the purple shampoo usually until about week six.

Maintenance: My hair grows fast, y’all! Thanks, Modere! 😉 So, I get my color touched up every 6-8 weeks! Mostly I try to stretch to 8 weeks if I can!

My Hair Type: Very thick with a slight wave! Thick hair will look and feel even thicker if you go short! Not a bad thing… I love it! The wave helps my curls last longer!

I do have a few new tools and products that make styling my short hair easier for me, so I thought I’d share them with you here!

I adore this, thank you very much for sharing. As I said on insta, your waves are the absolute dreamiest. We have the same haircut by the way, but mine is parted on the side.
