OMG Y’all. Can you believe the Summer is over?!? I know I say this every year but these Summers seem to be getting shorter and shorter. I ABSOLUTELY can not believe that we will have a 3rd grader and a 4th grader this year! The time is literally flying by faster than I care for that’s for sure!
So. Who’s ready for some back to school shopping??
I can remember finding out that I was having a girl during my first pregnancy and getting so excited thinking about all the fun we would have shopping together. All the cute outfits we would buy and how much she would LOVE everything I picked out for her and just how special and amazing it would be…..
Fast forward 10 years and I now have two gorgeous daughters and NEITHER one of them want to wear anything I think is cute, nothing I pick out suits their evolving little tastes, and the stores I would shop at for them are just pale in comparison to the greatest store in the history of stores. JUSTICE.
Now, I’m gonna be honest here and it’s no secret that I do not like JUSTICE. But… I do let my girls shop here from time to time because they love it and there are a few things that I can get behind…. A VERY FEW!
We’ve learned to compromise when it comes to shopping and I’m always trying to teach them quality over quantity but let’s be honest…. They’re 8 and 10. If you throw glitter and a unicorn on it, it’s basically solid gold in their book.
Here’s a few things THAT both myself and my girls agree on and equally LOVE when it comes to what they wear and how we shop for back to school!
We are huge fans of Nordstrom rack! If you’re a mom and love Nordstrom for yourself, then this is basically all the fun of Nordstrom for your little one! The prices are a lot less expensive than what you’ll find in the actual department store but a lot of the brands are the same!
Denim: Joe’s Jeans, DL1961 & Hudson (Super cute and comfy denim shorts and jeans!)
Dresses & Tops: Harper Canyon (lots of solid separates that pair well with jeans or shorts!)
Shoes: Toms, Converse, Dolce Vita, Nike (We buy all of our back to school shoes here!)
My girls like a sporty look so we can always find super cute tops, sweaters, pullovers, and hoodies here!
The A&F denim is super cute and great quality! (The sizes run a tad big though so we usually size down!) We LOVE the super skinny ripped denim jeans and the denim shorts are adorable and are the perfect length for school!
We love A&F’s graphic tees and pullovers!
My daughter is obsessed with the A&F bralettes!
OK! Check out some of the other items we LOVE below!
We are huge fans of Jansport Backpacks! You can find them just about anywhere and they are super durable. I don’t know about you but my kids are tough on the their backpacks! We’ve tried other brands and always seem to come back to Jansport! And! Did you know that they have a lifetime guarantee?? They totally do! If they rip, tear, or malfunction in anyway they will totally send you a brand new backpack! So cool!
Another Item we buy new every year is a lunch box! These also take a beating over the year so a new and fresh one at the beginning of a school year is always a good idea! I’m OBSESSED with PlanetBox! We’re always trying to find ways to be more eco friendly so I love the stainless steel aspect to these boxes! And! They have super cute covers too!
Another thing that we get new each year is a water bottle! We tend to collect these and after about a year I throw out the older ones and restock! We’ve tried all kinds of brands but are huge fans of S’well! I love their mission to create a healthier planet by helping to reduce the use of single use plastic water bottles! And! I also totally dig the fact that S’well is the fastest growing woman-owned company in the country! I love supporting other women entrepreneurs
Alright guys! I hope you found this list helpful! And I’d love to hear from you about any other must have products YOU love for your kiddos!
