A day in the life of a blogger is split between hours of writing and hours of research (and by “research,” I mean scrolling through Instagram feeds and Pinterest boards, ogling over home décor, adorable sandals, and dream destinations.)
Part of this lifestyle is also very hinged on the space in which a blogger works to bring her thoughts and visions to life. Some of y’all remember an older blog post where I walked you through the process of how I (and when I say “I,” I’m really talking about my amazing hubby) converted a nook of my home into a gorgeous space that made working seem a lot less like work.
Many of our pre-loved items were re-purposed to create my very own, real-life Pinterest paradise. It had all of the warm, natural elements that were on trend in the way of décor and I was in heaven.
Fast forward to today… You’ve heard the saying, “If you never change your mind, why have one?” Well, just like seasons and trends change, so did my mind — and my office! Now, (and bless Matt’s heart to be so patient with my slew of ideas) I am working in a brand-new space that I am so obsessed with!
First, I took the deeper, darker color schemes and went white — all white everything!
It’s so fresh and so inviting — a blogger’s dream (most definitely mine)! I found some amazing white bookshelves at IKEA which make the perfect home for my favorite trinkets. I wanted this space to be full of things that make me happy — things like gold frames, glass storage boxes, fresh-cut flowers, and chic lamps.
These shelves are designed with simple, clean lines but my pretty little things add so much feminine sophistication. Fashion bloggers know (can I get a witness?!) that staying organized is extremely important and not at all easy to do. Adding a garment rack to my space allows me to immediately hang new arrivals or garments that need to be photographed. I can basically file each piece according to what’s new, what’s upcoming, and what’s on sale. This sturdy rack is available on Amazon (Prime, y’all)!
Okay, can we talk about my gorgeous desk for a minute?!
So this is actually the same desk from my previous office tour except totally made-over and more stunning than I could have imagined. Before, the darker hues and black steel made for a perfect marriage to the warmer tones and rich textures. But, taking it from wood to bright white made this desk almost unrecognizable and it’s truly the focal point of my space. And, because it was a simple (well, Matt may disagree) refurb, it cost nothing more than a few sheets of sandpaper and a can of paint. Since this desk was an older find, I went ahead and linked a few similar styles for ya from Amazon! They’re super affordable too!
I rounded out my space by filling my bookshelves with pretty items that I snagged from HomeGoods, Amazon, and World Market!
This floral box, office supply organizing tray, and sunglass display case were all HomeGoods finds that didn’t break the bank but truly look like a million bucks in this space. I am a sucker for pretty things and these items somehow managed to land inside my cart (sorry not sorry). I also grabbed some picture frames (still have empty frames btw… how can I take so many pictures and have zero printed?!?!) Anywho… frames and these gorgeous floral prints from Amazon add some color and dimension to the bookshelves!
Lastly, I added this gorgeous fiddle leaf tree and, y’all, I’m obsessed with it!
If you’ve been around here for a while, then you may have seen it behind me in my try-ons! It’s a fan favorite and has had many homes around my house, but I think it’s found it’s forever home in my new office! #INLOVE
I tried to link as much as I could for you guys but some items were not linkable… for those, I found some really affordable and similar options that I think you will love too!
Before I go, I wanted to share with you the four things that I NEED in my workspace! Hopefully these spark some inspirations for you! I know they do for me!
ENJOY!
Four Must-Haves in My Workspace
- Fresh-cut flowers. What girl doesn’t love a romantic bouquet of flowers to admire? Some blooming buds put me in the best mood!
- Sweet-smelling candles. Sweet scents can evoke happiness, so my space will always have a delightfully-smelling candle. My fave scent is something flowery and uplifting. (Are you sensing a theme?)
- Natural light. It’s good for the room, good for the soul, and very good for my photos – lol! I am so much more productive with a little sunshine.
- A pretty mirror. It basically reflects all of the items mentioned above and multiplies the space. Not only does a mirror make your space seem bigger, but for me, a mirror is necessary for try-ons and pictures for you guys!
