Hey, girl Hey! It’s 2022!! Can you freakin believe it?! I’m so excited to kick off 2022 with this blog post. I know so many of you rely on Amazon for all the things (as do I!)… so I thought, what better way to share our new home plans with you than with some Amazon Home finds!
If you’re new here, first of all, welcome, but secondly, let me give you a little back story on what’s going on with the Carr’s! In June of 2021, we decided to take advantage of the hot real estate market and ditch our custom home in the burbs for twelve beautiful acres in a tiny Texas town! I know. Crazy right!? But, it’s not just any little Texas town; it’s our hometown! I grew up only a few miles down the road from our new property, and Matt’s parents live just a few miles away as well! We couldn’t be happier with the city/country swap and have spent the last six months perfecting our property and prepping it to build our dream home!
Fast forward to today, and we’ve just finished clearing the land and are on to working with our Architect, Cusimano Architect, to design our home! So far, we have approved the floor plan, which I’ll share with you today, and are still working on the front and back elevations, which should be ready for us to look at some time this month. I want to say that if you’re looking for an architectural firm, I highly recommend the team at Cusimano. Kelly, our lead architect, has been excellent at dissecting my millions of Pinterest pins and coming up with a design that is 100% what I’ve asked for. The process has been amazing so far, and we are so excited about how things are coming together!

It may be hard to tell from the images, but to give you a brief overview, we wanted to capture two main aspects of our property. One being the views of the wooded area behind us and two being the pond that sits on the right side of our property. We also wanted the main house to have three bedrooms, a guest house with one bedroom and a bunk room, and to be able to completely open the living area of the guest house to the outdoor pool and patio! Cusimano Architect gave me everything I asked for and more!
